Yoga and meditation while in nature provide an ideal combination to bring our lives back in to focus– a sense of relaxation, effortlessness, and unconditional cheerfulness. We will alternate between meditation practices and yoga sequences to work with our mind and body that can naturally bring us back to a fresh start. Banff Canada with Epic One Adventures

In the heart of the Canadian Rockies, you’ll find one of the greatest places on earth for true mountain lovers. Banff National Park and the surrounding area are home to towering mountain peaks, turquoise glacial lakes, a picture-perfect mountain town, abundant wildlife and views to remember for a lifetime. Visitors and locals alike make the pilgrimage to the park for a variety of activities including hiking, biking, skiing, photography and camping in some of the world’s most breathtaking mountain scenery. We will dive in on our own adventure with an emphasis on yoga and hiking for a week of incredible connection to nature.

Day 1

Arrive any time before 2pm at the Calgary International Airport. Once we are all gathered, we will depart for the park and mountain town of Banff.

Sulpher Mountain Gondola, dinner and itinerary review

In the early evening, we will take the Banff Gondola to the top of Sulpher Mountain and walk along a ridgeline boardwalk with 360’ views of Banff and the surrounding peaks. While here, we will have a lovely dinner as the sun sets over Canada and review the weeks itinerary.

Healy Pass Hike

One of the more stunning areas just outside of Banff, the Healy Pass trail starts with a wide, rolling trail which subtly narrows. The lush forest and the bridge over Healy Creek are stunning, submerging you in the idyllic natural universe of the Canadian Rockies. After 3 miles, we escape the forest and find ourselves in a beautiful alpine meadow. After crossing a creek, we will climb up through the stunning meadow, hoping to spot wildlife across the massive, wildflower studded expanse. Reaching the gentle apex of the pass, we will see peak upon peak and stellar mountain vistas. Nearly alone in this meadow, we will enjoy a 30 minute yoga session, then descend back to the Sunshine Meadow Village.

Explore this idealic mountain town full of shops and restaurants or stay at the resort, soak in the hot tub and prepare for our hike tomorrow.

Travel to Lake Louise

Hike Lake Louise / Lake Agnus

This valley was carved by the six glaciers of this area. We will begin by hiking alongside the glaciated blue waters of Lake Louise. As we hike through dense pine, we make our way up to the Plain of Six Glaciers Tea House with incredible views of Victoria Glacier. We will then traverse two miles leading us to Lake Agnes, nestled beneath the peak of Mt. Niblock. After another break and cold drink on the shores of the quaint Lake Agnus, we will descend back down to our starting point at Lake Louise.

Horseback to Lake Baker

Today we will rest our own feet and take in a stunning ride on horseback. We will join up with our well-established horseback outfitter and head in to Lake Baker, one of the most beautiful lakes and valley in this area. We will start off in heavy pine, but soon we rise above the trees and have unimpeded views of the peaks all around. Once we arrive at the high alpine lake, we will have a lakeside yoga session.

Healy Lake Moraine / Sentinal Pass / Paradise Valley

Once we have soaked in the beauty of Lake Moraine, we begin our trek ascending the Rockpile Trail, climbing high above the lake. On our way, you will enjoy breathtaking vistas of the Valley of Ten Peaks and the impossibly blue waters of Lake Moraine. We will continue up through the Larch Valley, covered in ground cover and wildflowers. We cross over the Sentinal Pass with sweeping 360’ views as we descend through the magnificent Paradise Valley. You will enjoy hiking a single track trail through a forested valley, colored with every shade of green. A swift running river, small mountain lakes and monstrous glaciers loom far above. It is common to see dozens of varieties of wildflowers, pika, marmot, and possibly even a mountain goat and bear. This is a trail never to be forgotten.
